Sian Rees – General Manager

Sian has twenty four years strategic and operational experience in the field of education and guidance, across a range of government, community and private sector organizations. Her experience particularly relates to service delivery, new company start-ups and mergers. Sian has held regional and national, executive and non-executive, directorships in the UK, including as a Director of Education for regional government. In addition she was Chair of a National Charity for young people, a Director of a newly created university and a founding Director of a national association for guidance practitioners. 

Sian began her career as a teacher, training to postgraduate level in education and has continued to study, recently becoming a Member of the Institute of Directors, qualified as a Chartered Company Director and registered as a Professional Consultant.  Sian’s most recent experience, prior to her current role in the UAE, was as CEO of a private company in the UK, which delivers personal development, careers guidance and consultancy services. The company won national awards for guidance and workforce development.

Sian is committed to personal and professional development, with a belief that every individual can succeed and that there is always more to learn. She is proud to lead summit team.

 Andrea Naylor – Director of Operations

Andrea has twenty years experience of delivering and managing Careers Education and Guidance Services in the UK and UAE.  Her current role as Summit Director of Operations involves the implementation and development of Career Guidance Services to a range of public and private sector organisations in Abu Dhabi.  Her vision is to support the development of Careers Education and Guidance in the UAE to enable
young people to develop the necessary skills to make informed career decisions, maximise their potential and contribute to the development and growth of the UAE economy.  

Before coming to the UAE, Andrea worked in the UK, where she was involved in managing a range of Career Guidance and Youth Support Services.  Her previous experiences include: Delivering  training for Career Advisers, establishing and developing Information, Advice and Guidance Services within the prisons in the North East of England, achieving the Matrix Excellence Award ( UK quality standard for IAG services), working as Specialist Adviser for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities, developing community outreach employment services, advising schools and colleges on implementation of Careers Education and Guidance curriculum, supporting the development of education business partnerships within schools, and training and delivery of Business community Mentoring programme and peer mentoring to support disaffected young people into employment.

Andrea has a Post Graduate Diploma in Career Guidance and has gained Institute of Career Guidance Special Educational Needs Award, City and Guilds A1 Assessors Award and the British Psychological Society Level A Certificate of Occupational Testing and is currently awaiting Level B certification.

Chris has thirty-three years of diverse experience in managing, developing and delivering career guidance services and has worked for Summit in the UAE for over two and a half years.  He was chair of the National Association for Assessment in Guidance for 12 years in the United Kingdom, and was a member of the editorial board of the learned journal “Assessment Matters” for 11 years.

Chris gained his degree in Psychology in 1976 and immediately joined the UK careers service. He has very wide experience of guidance roles, individual development and management selection using up to date and relevant methods of assessment.  He possesses qualifications of Occupational Testing to British Psychological Society standards.

Chris has authored various assessment tools to assist decision making and is delighted to have led the development of the Summit Interest guide written in both Arabic and English.

Fadi Haider Al Attas - Recruitment and Retention Manager

As Recruitment and Retention Manager, Fadi is responsible for leading the Summit recruitment team to generate employment opportunities for candidates from diverse nationalities in order to meet employers’ recruitment requirements. He is particularly interested in developing and implementing strategies for attracting, recruiting, retaining and developing UAE nationals in both private as well as public sectors.

Fadi is also involved in leading market research in the UAE and he effectively manages projects with his team to ensure Key Performance Indicators are achieved. His strengths lie in recruitment, employer negotiation and implementing improved working practices that enhance the recruitment processes for Summit.

Fadi holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the American University in Dubai. In addition to this, he has achieved the EDEXCEL BTEC Level 4 Diploma in Careers Advice and Counselling. Fadi is also certified to administer and feedback the Profile XT assessment and he is currently working on obtaining the British Psychological Society Level A & B Certificates of Occupational Testing. Fadi has extensive experience in Marketing and Human Resources and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Emma has over eight years experience as a Careers Advisor working with young people and adults in a variety of education settings. Working for SUMMIT since January 2008, Emma co-delivers, assesses and internally verifies assessments for the EDEXCEL BTEC Level 4 Diploma in Careers Advice and Counselling. This qualification was awarded an A grade on two occasions by EDEXCEL’s external verifier. During this period, Emma has also worked with a range of Emirati and international students on a variety of programs including graduates, undergraduates and with
the Department of Civil Service. This work has included delivering 1:1 guidance interviews, group work sessions, psychometric assessments and recruitment services.

In the United Kingdom, Emma gained experience of delivering training and providing consultancy services to education providers, including the development of Careers Education programs and training on Careers Guidance tools. As part of this role, she trained Careers Advisors and organized conferences aimed at Education and Guidance Professionals.

She professionally trained as a Careers Advisor at the University of East London. She is currently completing her Masters in Education: Guidance Studies with the University of Derby, International Centre for Guidance Studies and the British Psychological Society Level A & B Certificates of Occupational Testing.

Preeti Goyal has over six years of guidance and counseling experience working with different age groups in a variety of sectors such as health, education and research. Working with Summit since January 2008, her responsibilities include providing training and mentoring support to the team. She also works with a range of Emirati and non-Emirati students and corporate clients providing careers development and psychometric assessment
services. She is responsible for managing and publicizing labour market research and careers information in Abu Dhabi through our monthly newsletter and ADU Newsletter. She is also involved in co-delivering the EDEXCEL BTEC Level 4 Diploma in Careers Advice and Counselling.

Preeti has a Master degree in Clinical Psychology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling. She trained as a Counselor at the University of Delhi whilst working with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Her previous experience includes working with special needs clients and high school students in India and the UAE. She also holds the British Psychological Society Level A & B Certificates of Occupational Testing.

Sarah Young – Supervisory Careers Advisor

Sarah is a qualified Careers Advisor who joined SUMMIT in August 2008.  She has experience of working with children, young people and adults in advice and mentoring settings.  Sarah currently supports undergraduates, graduates and Emirati job seekers in Al Ain with career planning and development, CV advice, job
interview preparation and job search strategies.  She is responsible for managing and publicizing labour market research and careers information in Al Ain through our monthly newsletter and ADU newsletter. She is also part of the training team as a tutor for the EDEXCEL BTEC Level 4 Diploma in Careers Advice and Counselling.

Before coming to the UAE, she worked within the Further Education sector in the UK, which involved supporting adult learners through Information, Advice, Guidance and Mentoring, to overcome barriers to employment. 

Sarah has a Bachelor degree in European Business from Nottingham Business School in the UK, a Postgraduate Diploma in Career Guidance and holds a teaching certificate from City & Guilds in the UK.  She is a trained Internal Auditor for the ISO9001 Quality Standard and has gained the British Psychological Society (BPS) Level A Certificate of Occupational testing. She is currently working toward her MA in Education: Guidance Studies, from the International Centre for Guidance Studies at the University of Derby in the UK and the BPS Level B Certificate of Occupational Testing.
